A family run delicatessen and fresh food take away, supplying delicious home cooked food and baking from a beautiful shop nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Askrigg.
Mother and daughter, Elizabeth Fawcett and Betty Guy, opened their shop together in April 2017 welcoming customers daily with delightful table full of fresh foods.
Many of you may remember the opening of Humble Pie the first time around in 1999
Elizabeth, mother of three to, Emily, Susie and Betty, aged eight, two and ten months old, moved in and opened and its doors in July ’99 with a fabulous team to help cook, bake, wash up and more than likely fulfill a spot of babysitting too!
Unfortunately, Elizabeth closed the doors of Humble Pie in 2005 and moved on, watched her girls grow up together and then working as a local estate agent until March 2017.

Autumn and Winter Hours May Differ!
Margaret Baker 1941 – 2018
My mother is the reason Humble Pie thrives today. Born in Cornwall, she trained as a Cookery teacher in Bath before moving to Yorkshire when she married in 1963.
If I have a picture in my head of Mum, it was producing something delicious from her big red Aga up at Stalling Busk. She was a natural provider, welcoming everyone to the home with an abundance of food, laughter and love. Sunday lunches and Christmas were legendary amongst family and friends.
She nurtured all her five children to appreciate good food and in 1999 I opened Humble Pie for the first time with Mum’s help at the stove, running it for five years. She would be so proud that I reopened last year in partnership with my youngest daughter, Betty, who has definitely inherited her skill to bake with ease and ability.
I hope she looks down from her heavenly kitchen with her mind restored to the witty, clever & beautiful one we all loved so much.
Thank you for your understanding,
